CUPERTINO, CA and POCATELLO, ID -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Apr 25, 2006 -- Giga Scale Integration Corporation (Giga Scale IC) announced today that AMI Semiconductor (NASDAQ: AMIS), a designer and manufacturer of state-of-the-art structured digital and integrated mixed-signal products, has adopted the InCyte system to perform early chip design estimations for its advanced digital product lines.

Giga Scale IC's InCyte enables fast and accurate chip estimation at the earliest stages of the design cycle, at the time when the greatest cost savings can be realized. InCyte performs estimations of chip die size, power, leakage, yield, and cost and allows for rapid "what if" analysis at the architectural level in the design flow.

"As we move toward more technologically advanced IP and process technologies, InCyte is becoming valuable in helping us develop fast and accurate estimations of design size, power and cost in order to meet our ASIC design customers' expectations," said Mike Walsh, Product Marketing Manager, at AMIS.

"As our customers move to smaller geometries, it is increasingly important to weigh the technical and economic ramifications of the myriad process technologies and IP options available to them," said Adam Traidman, President of Giga Scale IC. "Assessing chip size, power, and cost earlier in the design flow is paramount."

About Giga Scale IC

Giga Scale IC is a privately funded EDA company that serves the interests of the IC design community by enabling accurate estimation of chip size, power and cost at the IC specification stage, at the earliest stages of the chip design cycle. The company develops and markets the InCyte chip estimation tool, into which it integrates IP and manufacturing process models for the most accurate estimation of ultimate chip cost. The company offers a unified web location -- ChipEstimate.com -- through which it delivers streamlined access to information about IP and process options, and allows the design community to assess different IP in their own chip design context with the InCyte tool. Giga Scale IC partners with leading IP vendors and semiconductor manufacturers who share our mission of early and accurate chip estimation for our mutual customers' ultimate design success.
